These sessions are essentially the same as seeing a doctor for a follow-up visit. Many medications are helpful in the treatment of substance use and behavioral health disorders. We prescribe medications for:

During the first visit the doctor will discuss your medical history as well as your history of substance andalcohol use. They will then determine if the patient is a candidate for any medications. Once medicationsare prescribed, patients will have follow up visits scheduled so that the doctor can judge if the medication isworking, if a different dose is needed, or maybe find the medication wasn’t that helpful.
